Virtually Being On DSP without the DSP Payment !!!!


Today I finally heard from Centrelink but still none the wiser as to why my DSP claim had been rejected. In fact I am even more perplexed.

The emails from Centrelink centered around the reporting requirements which is still once per month, and the assessment of my work capacity.

I thought my DSP claim was rejected because the mental health professionals employed by Centrelink had assessed that I was perfectly capable of working despite my ASD, somewhat reasonable given that up until the planned-demic I had been working full time - in the public sector under virtually sheltered conditions!!!

However they assessed that my current work capacity is less than 8 hours per week hence the six months exemption of my activity requirements - see how the planned-demic fucked up my mental health!!!!!! Therefore exempt from having a job due to my medical conditions.

Uhhhh am I missing something? Isn't the idea of DSP is to cater for those who cannot work due to medical conditions????

I am on JobSearch Allowance and exempted from working due to my medical condition, the same as those on DSP just that those on DSP gets $300 more per fortnite.

So it seems the only difference between me and someone on DSP is $300 per fortnite..... the money I received yesterday from Centrelink!!!!

The emails from Centrelink also didn't mention about my benefits, how much I will be receiving, and the reason for that $300 payment yesterday!!!

So I went onto my Centrelink account, and still none the wiser on why they paid me $300 after rejecting my DSP claim. According to the payment history which also gives the next payment, they give my next payment being next week as being the same JobSearch Allowance (albeit after the payrise which everyone on Centrelink had gotten - for me less than an Ecstatic Dance session!!) plus an extra $37 which is also unexplained. That $37 is listed as a separate payment to my normal JobSearch Allowance.

Given I am under virtually the same condition as someone on DSP, this being the exemption from having to work, I figure the only reason why I am NOT on DSP is some technicality. That is govt for ya!!!!

Like I been rejected for NDIS on a technicality, a lack of a formal diagnosis of my ASD, nevermind that my psychologist stated in her report that I do have ASD. Psychologists however are technically not qualified to diagnose ASD, only a psychiatrist can make such a diagnosis - after being paid 1.5K for the privilege hence why I do NOT have such a diagnosis!!!!!!

Perhaps its the same reason why my DSP claim had been rejected, or some other technicality. I just have to wait and see until Centrelink finally sends me that email giving the reasons for the rejection of my DSP claim.

Medical Exemption !!!! This morning I did get through to APM, my jobsearch provider for those with disabilities, and was told that although my DSP claim has been rejected, I am apparently on a "medical exemption" from my job search obligations until March 9 2025. So basically I can't be on the job search system until at least then. Uhhhh OK if I have this medical exemption until basically next year then why have my DSP claim been rejected?? The irony of it all...... Centrelink is often having to motivate the so called "dole bludgers" into putting in an effort to look for jobs, while someone here who WANTS/NEED a job and is willing to put in the effort to this end with the help of APM is being prevented from doing so!!!!! Now I just discovered that Centrelink have paid me an extra $300 today!!!! That is basically the difference between my Jobsearch Allowance and DSP. Dang if I knew they were going to pay me this money I would have been able to pay for 10 sessions...

  Equation of Survival Armed with new information - Records from the hospital of my childhood diagnosis, and information from Service Australia to enable me to access the requirements for getting onto DSP, there is a decided renewed hope that I may be able to get onto NDIS and/or DSP. However the equation of survival of the next six years of poverty remains essentially the same. I am currently in the process of re-applying for NDIS armed with evidence of my childhood diagnosis, and by this weekend I will have accessed the WorkForce Australia website for information on the requirements for DSP and where I missed out previously with view towards hopefully being able to meet those requirements. One would hope the evidence of my childhood diagnosis will also be helpful towards gaining the necessary 20 points for DSP. Selling My Soul To The Devil The additional information I had gained from what it would take to apply for NDIS and DSP proved to be handy. Having my childhood diagnosis of ASD, known back then as autism, should help my NDIS cause immensely, however, as per usual, further assessments are required. In this instance, the assessment by an Occupational Therapist which occurs over several sessions to basically see how this 8D soul from Taygeta is coping with the day to day life on the most dense 3D planet in the galaxy. For DSP there seems to be basic requirements, that is, you need a diagnosis of the condition, evidence you are being treated for the condition, and that the condition is "stabilized" which basically means it is not going to get any better anytime soon, not in two years anyway. In addition you need evidence that all treatment options have been explored. Unfortunately it doesn't refer to the alternative treatments, herbal medicines, meditation and other practices ...
