Next Steps

So annoying that today is a public holiday in Western Australia, so I can't yet get in contact with APM to get myself back on the jobs market. As extremely unlikely as it is that I will ever get a job at my age, one has to be in it to win it...... and besides it is part of the activity requirements, apply for 20 jobs per month, and attend to appointments etc with your jobsearch provider, which for me is APM, geared towards those with disabilities such as ASD.

I am yet to learn of the reason for my DSP rejection, I am told a letter or email would be sent explaining the reasons. I think a lot of it is to do with the fact that others with ASD successfully hold down jobs, and I have worked fulltime before despite my ASD. However those with ASD with jobs are all younger that I am. Ageism is destined to be my biggest obstacle, far more so than even my ASD.

Anyway after getting hold of APM tomorrow, next businesses, not necessarily in order, is the NILS scheme for funding new brakes for my vehicle, and attempting to activate the hardship clause in my personal loan repayment which is 30% of my JobSearch Allowance.

First the NILS, the No Interest Loan Scheme available for those on Centrelink and others on less than $70K. I can't really afford another debt, but I need new brakes for safety reasons, and I am unable to put aside extra funds to save towards the repairs. I need only $500 for the brakes, so over six months, the repayment is comparable to an Ecstatic Dance session. However the paperwork involved is overwhelming, you virtually have to give your life history in applying for such a loan. Also the loan is paid directly to your service provider, in my instance the mechanics who will replace my brakes, rather than deposited into my bank account. So it will mean I will have to contact the mechanic for a written quote, and submit this quote to the loan provider. This in addition to ID, bank statements, evidence of living arrangements, and Centrelink payment statements.

But first thing's first...... and that is, APM tomorrow, and will see how that pans out...... I imagine an appointment with them shortly afterwards...... help in getting my resume together, and other such matters that comes with applying for jobs I will never get due to my age!!!!!!
